Jared Barbick
Jared M. Barbick’s work illustrates a broadness of exploration. He addresses subjects ranging from the Holocaust to the emergence of the bebop era. He has been credited for his exploration of alternative mediums that are usually inflexible and fragile. His painting “Solitude in Sound” has been recognized in Copeland’s Famous New Orleans Restaurant in downtown Minneapolis. Early in his career, Barbick was awarded a scholarship to Disney’s art school - California Institute of the Arts - in Valencia. Barbick currently works as a teacher of students who have Aspergers Disease. Barbick received his bachelor’s degree in English from UCSB and his Masters Degree in Education from Pepperdine University.

John R. Guthrie is a student in the MFA Program in Creative Writing at Antioch, Los Angeles. He spent four years as a US Marine (enlisted, infantry rifleman) early on, then garnered a formal education and practiced as a family physician in the Smoky Mountain foothills of Appalachia for years. His work (non-fiction, poetry and fiction) has appeared in publications to include “The Watermark Literary Magazine,” “LEATHERNECK; the Magazine of the Marines,” “The Blue Collar Review,” “The Worcester Review,” the “Milford Daily News” and “POINT: South Carolina’s Independent Political Magazine” as well as in other publications in the US and abroad. He lives with his Russian-born wife and eleven-year-old son in Simi Valley, CA.

David Fraser lives in Nanoose Bay, on Vancouver Island. He is the founder and editor of “Ascent Aspirations” magazine. His poetry and short fiction have appeared in over 40 journals including “Three Candles,” “Regina Weese,” “Ardent,” and “Ygdrasil.” He has published a collection of his poetry “Going to the Well” (2004) and a collection of short fiction, “The Dark Side of the Billboard.” David is currently the BC Federation of Writers Regional Director for The Islands Region. He has a BA in English from University of Toronto, and a MEd in adult education from OISE. Currently, he is a full time writer who also teaches skiing at Mt Washington in the winter.
